Reviving Providence Chinatown: Providence Garden

✷ editorial design (Phase 1)
immersive experience (Phase 2)
Together, my peers and I wanted to take a step further and transport the audience back in time. We established Providence Garden, an immersive space allowing the audience to reencounter the essence of the Chinese restaurants that were integral to downtown Providence.
In our efforts to authentically recreate the ambiance, we incorporated audio that evokes the atmosphere of a traditional Chinese American restaurant, featuring voices recounting their experiences at these esteemed diners. Additionally, we offer fortune cookies containing anecdotes from the customers of these establishments as a souvenir for the audience to take upon leaving the space.
