some Screengrabs from Turn Over a New Leaf
Tree Watching some time in October
Turn Over a New Leaf was a webpage dedicated to capturing and forecasting the vibrant transformation of fall foliage on College Hill this past fall semester. As I experienced my last autumn in Providence, I longed to capture the leaves’ vivid hues as a timeless keepsake of the season’s fleeting beauty.

The interactive web interface showcases the current day’s leaf foliage, featuring a bottom slider that allows users to explore past foliage states or future predictions. Pixel colors are derived from analyzing dominant leaf hues in the curated background images, integrated with real-world tonal variations. This approach delivers a visually dynamic and authentic portrayal of natural foliage transitions.

The "Hide" button in the bottom-right corner allows users to remove the background image, revealing only the abstract pixel representation across the page. Hover interactions further enrich the experience by transforming the abstract pixels and logo into leaf silhouettes, echoing the idea of turning over a new leaf—symbolizing transformation, growth, and renewal. This playful yet meaningful interaction reinforces the theme, while the interface offers a layered, immersive experience that captures the ephemeral beauty of nature.
