A magical and almost sacred quality is brought out as the frames illuminate. The stills come into life through the projections. In those very precious instances, the memory plays before our eyes as if coming to life. As the light from the projection shines onto the sculpture, it decreases in brightness as it passes through each layer of the supposed photo frame, and creates an interesting visual illusion when viewed from the sides.

This 4D project explores the theme of memory, aiming to depict how fragments of memory resurface and evoke treasured moments from my childhood. Using archived childhood videos, I project them onto a physical sculpture, layering frames that undergo varying degrees and methods of distortion. This distortion symbolizes the gradual fading of memories as time passes, pulling them further from their original form. These frames, the size of photographs, highlight the role of images in preserving different facets of memory, capturing a specific moment in time. When these 4x4 frames are put together, they create a large projection screen similar to a television, underscoring how videos also serve as a medium for revisiting the past.
